August, 1907:- "It appeared to me "that it might facilitate the rendition of Adsetts if the "State Department were made acquainted with the fact that he "was a prisoner on board an American Man-of-war and not on *Chinese Territory". Adsetts was subsequently under instruct- -ions from the United States Government sent to Manila where he was arrested and extradited to Hongkong on the production of the necessary papers by this Government.
